Mark of Recon Essence, commonly referred to as "recons," are special items that are given out by Hypixel admins.
When clicked, a small amount of XP is given to every player in the user's lobby. A player can use a Mark of Recon Essence once per day. The item itself has no cooldown. When used, a message will appear in chat to all players, calling the user a "tryhard," "awesome," or having "no life at all."
Despite not stating so, Marks of Recon Essence are not lost on death.
Trivia
Minikloon is typically the admin that gives out Marks of Recon Essence. He typically only gives them to players who have prestige XXXVI or greater.
