The Golden Helmet is a mystic item given as a reward by the King for completing the King's Quest on the Castle map. Its ability to increase one's XP output and defense makes it a popular armor piece for many players. The golden helmet has fifty lives, but unlike most mystic items cannot be placed in the Mystic Well, and by extension cannot be repaired using Magnum Opus or enchanted in the Mystic Well.
Trivia
Before The Pit 1.0.5, the golden helmet had 5 lives. Because of a change in the update that made it significantly more difficult to retain mystic lives, the helmet's lives were increased.
